“Get into Golf” at Stoke by Nayland Golf Open Weekend 8th/9th April!
30 March 2017
The annual Golf Membership Open Weekend at Stoke by Nayland will be held on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th April from 10am – 3pm on both days. Golfers of all abilities are welcome to come along – whether you are beginner wishing to get started in the game with lessons, or a seasoned player who would like to take advantage of the “No joining fee” and “14 months for the price of 12” membership deals on offer over the weekend. There will also be free golf clinics given at the Driving Range from 10am and 12 noon on both days, and complimentary 9 holes of golf (confident players only) on Sunday from 10am.
Stoke by Nayland Golf Club has also launched a new initiative this year to encourage aspiring golfers of any age to get into the game of golf - and to ensure that they’ll have fun whilst they learn! The aim is to encourage anyone to join in at any level of the golf “escalator” that suits them, and then progress upwards at their own pace, to get even more enjoyment both from the game itself, and from being part of a club.
Offering the finest coaching facilities in the area – which include a 20 bay covered driving range, which is a Regional Performance Centre for England Golf, extensive short game practice areas, and two championship golf courses – as well as four highly qualified professional coaches, Stoke by Nayland provides the best possible environment and opportunities for Getting into Golf.
So in addition to the Open Weekend activities there will be rolling 4 week coaching courses starting on both weekdays and weekends for adults, ladies and juniors from beginners upwards - so please visit the website to find out more!
Stoke by Nayland’s Head Teaching Professional, Roly Hitchcock has just achieved the accolade of becoming one of only a dozen golf professional coaches in the UK and Ireland who have been awarded the PGA level 4 UK Sports Coaching certificate from Birmingham University. Roly has been trained by the top coaching academics in the country to critically evaluate new techniques and apply this knowledge to his coaching programmes at Stoke by Nayland.
Roly heads up a team of three other highly qualified coaches; Karl Dunn, an experienced coach at Stoke by Nayland, Simon Dainty, previously a coach at the Lee Westwood Golf School and Danielle Anderson, who has just joined Stoke from Wentworth.
Stoke by Nayland’s reputation for being a friendly, welcoming and forward-thinking club for all, has now been further enhanced, as the venue has been awarded the official England Golf Golfmark Award - the authorised seal of approval for clubs which successfully work to develop the game. The outstanding golf facilities include extensive practice areas, an excellent clubhouse serving freshly cooked food all day and a well-stocked golf shop with a repair and personal fitting service.
