Housekeeping Manager

Stoke by Nayland Resort is seeking a Housekeeping Manager to lead the resort housekeeping team to success across all areas of accountability, whilst demonstrating professionalism, integrity and a passion for the job.  

You will be responsible for managing all areas of cleaning across the resort, including hotel bedrooms, lodges, and all guest-facing areas ensuring immaculate presentation standards are delivered, therefore, excellent attention to detail is a must!  You will also manage the daily operation of the hotel laundry.

Job responsibilities:

  • Deliver an outstanding guest journey by maintaining high standards of cleanliness across the resort
  • Guide and develop the team to maintain company standards of quality, cleanliness and presentation at all times
  • Respond to feedback and strive for continual improvement across all your areas of responsibility
  • Manage costs in line with the budget to achieve overall department profitability
  • Undertake a regular review of products and services to deliver on budget, ensuring maximum cost effectiveness
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and motivational ability to coordinate the housekeeping team
  • Represent the housekeeping team at operational and financial meetings, demonstrating ownership of the department
  • Contribute to the overall Resort performance by fostering effective working relationships with key stakeholders
  • Provide outstanding personal performance to act as a role model and ambassador for the business, demonstrating leadership by example
  • Oversee continual training and development of the housekeeping team

Qualifications or desired skills:

  • A professional attitude and approach to work
  • Excellent management and organisational skills
  • A passion for developing, mentoring and leading a team
  • Prior experience in a housekeeping management role is desired, although not essential
  • Have excellent attention to detail
  • Experience controlling costs through management of stock procedures and staff rotas

Additional information:

This position is for 42.5 hours per week, working 5 days over 7 according to the needs of the business, including early shifts, late shifts, and weekends.
