Christmas & New Year 2021: making up for lost time!
This December we’ll be transforming the hotel into a magical Winter Wonderland complete with Santa’s sleigh, an enchanted forest and a giant snow globe to help get you into the festive spirit. It’s going to be one to remember.
I don’t think we’re alone when we say that the prospect of spending Christmas with family and friends feels like such a treat this year. The time has finally arrived. Lockdown is over and all those long-awaited cocktails and egg nogs under the mistletoe can recommence. There’s a lot of catching up to do and even more unwinding from quite the year.
Very recently here at Stoke-by-Nayland we’ve had our eye on Christmas, Twixmas and New Year’s, so we thought now would be a good time to share with you a few options you might like to consider. (Yes, it’s absolutely allowed to make plans about the C-word this side of August – after all, we all deserve a smashing time this year.)
One of the things at the top of everyone’s bucket list has of course been booking a getaway. Many of our guests are choosing to get away from their homes (of which they have seen more than enough) and instead, booking a getaway where they don’t need to plan any long food shopping lists, plan any activities or do any washing up whatsoever. No, none at all! The only finger you will be lifting is your little pinkie while you sip Champagne.
Many people have commented that their four top reasons for spending Christmas at Stoke by Nayland, aside from our stunning beauty-spot-of-a-location, is the comfort of our rooms, our tasty food, our great golf and our relaxing spa (phew!) – so here’s a quick guide on how you can rest, eat, play, unwind, and repeat, over the Christmas period with us.
1 REST. Forget making your bed, doing housework, and all those extras usually on your list over Christmas, we’ve got you covered. Our Club Rooms can accommodate twin or double and there’s lots of space in each room for Christmas presies, along with free WiFi, tea/coffee making facilities and of course an en-suite bathroom. Upgrade to one of our Deluxe Rooms or Junior Suites for the Christmas period for an extra-special treat. All hotel guests benefit from complimentary use of our poolside facilities from check in at 2pm to check out on your day of departure at 11am. These include an 18-meter indoor pool, luxurious Jacuzzi, sanarium, sauna and more.
2 EAT. Many of our Christmas packages include dining options and festive menus. For those looking for dining options outside of these packages, you might like to check out our festive lunches, dinners, and afternoon teas in advance or maybe you’re simply open to discovering what’s on offer during your stay. Don’t forget to check out the options from our formal Lakes Restaurant, The Gallery Grill, afternoon tea, Sunday lunches and the Orchard Lounge for cocktails – there are plenty of options for you to feast on. You can also experience our award-winning cuisine throughout your stay.
3 PLAY. For our all-weather golfers, don’t forget we offer state-of-the-art facilities and a range of excellent golf services in a luxurious setting – we’ve thought of everything to make your Christmas golf break memorable. From our covered driving range, 4k virtual Golf Simulator and professional tuition to award-winning dining – golf-lovers will have everything they need to make their festive break extra special.
4 UNWIND. There’s never been a better time to let go, treat yourself, and enjoy a tranquil getaway at our in-house Peake Spa with luxurious treatments and use of our fabulous indoor pool, samarium, steam room, Jacuzzi, and concept shower. Make sure you pre-book your treatments beforehand as we will be busier than usual at this time.
