Spa FAQs

All the answers to your frequently asked questions

To help you make the most of your next visit to Peake Spa, we have answered some of our most commonly asked questions. Please give our friendly Spa Team a call if you have any further questions ahead of your next visit on 01206 262836.

Do I need to book treatments in advance?

Our spa treatments are popular, so we recommend booking your treatment in advance. That way we can ensure everything is ready for you on the day.

What facilities do you have?

Our spa poolside facilities include an 18.3-metre indoor heated pool, steam room, sanarium and Jacuzzi. Our pool is the same depth throughout, with diving prohibited.

Visit our Spa Facilities page for more information.

What should I wear to the spa?

We advise wearing comfortable swimwear and avoiding metal clasps, as these can get hot when using our steam room and sanarium.

If you have booked a treatment, there is no need to strip off completely for this. For body treatments, we recommend that you continue to wear your bikini bottoms or swimming trunks. Please note that these may get oily from the products used in your treatment.

For our Rasul Mud Therapy Experience, we recommend wearing a dark-coloured swimsuit. The natural mud and minerals used in the Rasul may stain light-coloured swimwear.

What time do spa days / spa breaks start and finish?

Our spa days (excluding Twilight Spa) start at 9:30am. You can arrive after this time, but we advise you to arrive at Peake Spa at least 30 minutes prior to any booked treatments.

For spa breaks, please also arrive from 9:30am. If your spa day is on the day of your arrival at the resort, you will be able to check into your hotel room from 3:00pm. Luggage can either be left in your vehicle or with hotel reception.

How far in advance can I book a spa day online?

Our online Spa Day booking system allows bookings up to four months ahead.

To book further in advance, please give our Spa Team a call on 01206 262836 and they will be more than happy to help you.

Card tokenisation upon arrival or upon booking

We require bank card details from at least one member of your group to secure the use of the robes (returnable at Spa Reception at the end of your day) and to allow chargebacks throughout your day. This may be done in advance of your day if you booked or paid over the phone.

Can I add extra treatments to my spa package?

Extra treatments can be added to your spa day or spa break, subject to availability. View our range of Spa Treatments available to book online here or call Peake Spa on 01206 262836 to add to your existing booking.

Do you offer couple's rooms for treatments together?

We offer a couple's treatment room for those wishing to spend their treatment time together. To request our dual treatment room, please add this to the notes section in your online booking. Both guests will need to be booking the same treatment. Please note that this is subject to availability and may not be available during busy times.

Our Rasul Mud Therapy Experience is also a fantastic choice for couples and can be enjoyed by two to four people.

Are mobile phones allowed in the spa?

Mobile phones are allowed in Peake Spa. However, we would prefer that they be kept on silent, with calls taken in our Spa Bistro area away from our relaxation areas and other guests.

Is there anything that I should tell the Spa Therapist prior to my treatment?

On arrival, we ask you to complete our spa pre-treatment questionnaire. Here you can indicate any health conditions or skin problems that our therapist should know about in advance of your treatment. Please let us know if you are pregnant as we would advise against facial and massage treatments in your first trimester. You can of course inform us earlier or at the time of booking.

What are your hygiene protocols?

Our changing rooms utilise a UV filtration system, purifying the air and removing germs. Our treatment rooms are cleaned and sanitised after each use. Hand sanitisers are available across the resort. We strongly recommend showering before using our poolside facilities and swimming pool to remove any residue from cosmetics products and oils on your body. We also advise against shaving within 4 hours of using our facilities to avoid sensitive skin, with warm temperatures and spa products used in our treatments.

Can I have treatments if I am pregnant?

We have a range of treatments available specifically for mums-to-be and new mums. Please be aware that we offer spa treatments only after you have passed your first trimester.

View our range of Pre and Post-Natal treatments here.

Can children have spa treatments?

Unfortunately, we reserve our spa area for persons aged 16 years or over. Due to this restriction, we cannot carry out spa treatments, spa days or spa breaks for children.

Can I cancel my treatment or spa day?

Yes, in line with our cancellation policy. Please refer to the terms and conditions in your booking confirmation email.

Can I still have treatments and enjoy a spa day if I have allergies?

We have many treatments available that can be adapted to meet your needs. To ensure that we’re looking after you properly, we do ask that you inform us of any allergies at the time of booking or in advance of your spa treatment.

Can I have spa treatments if I am recovering from or undergoing cancer treatments?

Looking after yourself is especially vital while you are recovering from or undergoing cancer treatment. Our senior therapists are trained in Jennifer Young treatments, which use products specially designed for those undergoing or recovering from cancer treatment.

Please let us know at the time of booking if you require a Jennifer Young therapist to carry out your treatment.

Can I use the steam room and sanarium after a treatment?

We advise guests not to use our heat rooms after a spa treatment.

Please note, the use of our poolside facilities is not included if you have booked a treatment separate from a spa day or spa break. If you are unsure what your package includes, please feel free to ask our team and we’ll be happy to help you.

Do I need to bring my own robe and flip-flops?

Guests enjoying our spa days and breaks have robes, towels and flip-flops provided for their use, plus a reserved spa lounger!

Will I be able to purchase products used in my treatments to continue my skincare at home?

To ensure the best results and continued improvements, our therapists will recommend products specific to your needs. You can purchase your tailored care products from our wide retail selection.
